He is the main character, son of Hiroshi and Misae and Himawari's brother, a kindergarten-aged boy whose antics are the basis for the series. His affectionate name by relatives is Shin-chan. He is five and loves chocolate biscuits of the brand "Chocobi" and a TV superhero named "Action Mask", but he absolutely hates green peppers. He shows deep affection for his sister Himawari. He is a very good singer and pretty good baseball and football player. He learned photography from his aunt Musae. Sometimes he changes the actual words, making it very funny.

Shinsuke Nohara commonly known as Shinchan Nohara is a Japanese manga series wrttien and illustrated by Yoshito Usui.It follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, aCrayon Shin-chan first appeared in 1990 in a Japanese weekly magazine called Weekly Manga Action, which is published by Futabasha. Due to the death of author Yoshito Usui, the manga in its original form ended on September 11, 2009. A new manga began in the summer of 2010 by members of Usui's team,^[4] titled New Crayon Shin-chan and friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture.
